MajorBytes - Big Sky Blues Band

About MajorBytes

Big Sky Blues Band is based out of Missoula, MT and blends the digital world with the analog world to make an ambient blues/rock sound that is better defined as a mind expanding adventure.

A well defined sound that delves into a broad spectrum of sound scapes and tonal quality of a large ambient symphony with the edginess of the blues. The band originated in 1978, but remained nameless until 2007.

Allen Warren's blues roots stem from the road houses of Texas to the Mexico border towns. After relocating to Montana his music style expanded into the New Age sound of digital electronics and synthesizers. Ever searching for that perfect blend of the analog with the digital world to meld an atmosphere to carry the melodies of a crying guitar singing the blues.

My Studio

Guitars- Oscar Schmidt Delta King for most of my lead work and heavy rhythm. I have four all together. A Takamine EG260C Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Washburn Anarchy X16, Washburn Dreadnought Acoustic, Fender Telecaster and the Delta King, Keyboards - M-Audio Axiom 61, Vocals my own, Synthesizers and every other musical instrument that works in shaping sound to paint an emotional audio picture. I built my 64bit Dual Core Digital Audio Workstation and I use an EMU-1212m PCI Audio Card with a Behringer ADA8000 for my input/output to my Sequencer Software. I use a Behringer VAMP 2 effects box with my guitars. For acoustic guitar and vocals I use a MXL 2003 Condenser Microphone pushed through a Beri Eurorack UB1202 and then through a Lexicon MX200 Dual Reverb Effects Processor. I just got a Line 6 Spider Jam Guitar Amplifier and it is way cool for the creativity.

I use D'Addario EXP Light Acoustic strings 12-53 on my Takamine and Delta King. I use Dean Markley Blue Steel Regulars 10-46 on my Telecaster. On my X-16 Anarchy I use D'Addario XL 11-49 with a wound 3rd string.
