A low-priced multitracker software package commonly available everywhere from Musiac Gear shops to electronic stores. |
HRC Member Reviews: Review from tonyd1970 Ease of Use: 7 out of 10 Quality: 10 out of 10 Value: 8 out of 10 Comments: Wondering if the 'ole tascam 4 track is limiting you but you don't want to spend alot on pc recording software? Well, here ya go. For about 40 bucks, you get a really good entry level product.
highs- price, availbility (any Best Buy) ease of use, decent manual, very stable- (I run it on 98ME and 2000) fairly low overhead (10 tracks on a P3 with 512 and no dropouts or hickups) easy install, good support, and works great with Sound Blaster products, importing and exporting is really simple, It's got great bang for the buck. (and it looks cool)
Lows-Not nearly as advanced as the higher priced products. Klunky and a little flakey when it comes to using Directx/VST's. Above 6 tracks on the p3 real time effects drag the system, if you dont buy the "Deluxe" you can't burn to MP3's. Manual could be a bit more involved. Some tasks require many steps that should be point and click.
That's about it, if you want to do some decent music recording (midi or analog) with your existing PC this program will handle it. It's kinda like flying Southwest- you get there- and you get there cheap- but its lacking some bells and whisles. |
