Provides all you need to take dance songs to the next level. It's a hybrid product that combines the best in sound generation and emulation with song creation, and does it all with an interface you can use out-of-the-box. You'll be jamming out to an infinite assortment of electro-induced rhythms in no time at all. |
HRC Member Reviews: Review from Drew Ease of Use: 7 out of 10 Quality: 7 out of 10 Value: 10 out of 10 Comments: I use the demo of this program in conjunction with Sonic Foundry ACID to sequence drum beats, and when you consider that there's a fully functional free version of ACID (limited to 8 tracks), this is a VERY effective combo for a musician on a budget looking to get decent drum sounds for original songs. The majority of the drum sounds are pretty cheesy-yet-useable in a trip-hp sorta way, but the "realistic" kit and a good reverb is quite authoritative in a rock mix, and as mentioned above, you have the ability to bring in your own samples.
Only downside? Support for polyrhythmic beats (i.e- three against four fills, triplets, etc) is virtually nonexistant unless you, say, multiply the componants by each other, up the temp "acidized", and adjust it down to the "real" tempo in another program. Tha, and repeated hits in rapid sucession on the same kit componant tend to overlap, sounding fake. And there's no native support for odd time signatures- it assumes you're in 4/4 at all times, and if you want to do something different, you have to manally change the number of beats. It's not the end of the world, but it'd be an easy fix for an annoyance. Either way, a great application that can add some life to your drum programing.
Review from fortymile Ease of Use: 10 out of 10 Quality: 7 out of 10 Value: 10 out of 10 Comments: i'd give it all tens if i could. i use it for rock drums, and once you get the hang of it, you'll be creating beats that work in seconds. it's that easy. the one thing to watch out for: it's tricky to work with multiple time signatures in one song. it can be done, but make sure you know your multiples. in the future, i would expect them to upgrade this and do away with this limitation. therefore, my recommendation: buy. be happy.

Review from Panik Attack Ease of Use: 9 out of 10 Quality: 10 out of 10 Value: 10 out of 10 Comments: The update for this product "Fruity Loops Studio" is an excellent utility for laying down rhythms, synth lines, and any other virtual bedtracks... please note, it is not a good recording program (although they're beggining to integrate it in), used more for songwriting.

Review from Walt Ease of Use: 7 out of 10 Quality: 8 out of 10 Value: 9 out of 10 Comments: First, I must preface this review with the condition that I use it only as a beat sequencer for "tic tak" or metronome tracks. I was looking at physical "outboard" units when HRC members recomended it. It is extreamly versital and cost effective for my needs. I find it's advanced functions fun to play with. The synthetic sounds produced are very good synthetic sounds. I have yet however, used any of the sounds to replace or substitute actual instrument performance.
Review from Noize2u Ease of Use: 8 out of 10 Quality: 9 out of 10 Value: 10 out of 10 Comments: Of all the software I use, this is the app is the most fun. I love tweakin this thing. I used ReBirth for most of the things I did relative to Fruity type stuff, and this thing won my heart over. They have a lot of goodies hidden under the hood here. There are several synths and FX that are not visable to the first time user, but once you start digging ito the app it becomes apparent that it is not your run of the mill beat sequancer. You can import your own wave files and twist em into complete submission with this app. I love weeing just how far you can go with it. I would say it is a must have for all you beat makers out there and even the regular guys too.
Review from blueninjastar Ease of Use: 7 out of 10 Quality: 9 out of 10 Value: 8 out of 10 Comments: It takes a little while to get the hang of Fruity Loops, but once you do, there's little end to what you can do with it. This is must-have software for me!
Review from dB Masters Ease of Use: 10 out of 10 Quality: 8 out of 10 Value: 9 out of 10 Comments: This is undoubtly the most user-friendly software sequencer I have ever worked with. Very straight forward design and usability, good price. Over all great value. The only issue I have bumped into is trying to have triplets and eighth notes in the same measure. It can be done but takes some math and a little luck.
Overall, one of the favorite and most used pieces of software. |
