For serious programmers and those who want to use it as a sound module, the SR-16 provides comprehensive MIDI programming and MIDI implementation. In addition to more than 200 drum and rhythm samples, a Dynamic Articulation feature enables a drum's tone to change, depending on how hard it's hit. Comes with fifty preset rhythm patterns, each with an A and B variation, plus A and B fill, for a total of four different rhythms in each pattern. Also includes four outputs, twelve velocity-sensitive pads, 16-voice polyphony, sample/DAC bit resolution 16/18, and a 20-255BPM tempo range. |
HRC Member Reviews: Review from TheTincanbug Ease of Use: 7 out of 10 Quality: 8 out of 10 Value: 10 out of 10 Comments: This is a high quality drum machine, and an old favorite of many drummerless musicians. Unlike the real thing, this baby can count to 4 - haha, sorry guys, I couldn't resist. Seriously, it's got good sounds - there's a drum kit for just about every style in here - and it's pretty easy to use the record and quantize features to get what you want. I'm not pleased with the "step recording" feature, however, because the interface isn't great. It is usable, however, and for the relatively low cost I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. This unit is another great "value" pick. Features I like about this unit include the a/b and a/b fills capability, and the overall sound quality. FYI, this unit's a little quiet through a headset and does NOT use batteries, so it could be a little more portable. Despite a few shortcomings, it's still a strong buy. |
