This fully programmable desktop unit delivers a wide range of legendary amp tones (sixteen models, expandable with included software to 32) and features sixteen pro-quality digital effects setups arranged on separate knobs. It also offers extensive programmability via MIDI-adjustable parameters. In short, it lets you record mind-blowing tracks with full volume punch without freaking out the neighbors or waking up the wolves. |
HRC Member Reviews: Review from fortymile Ease of Use: 8 out of 10 Quality: 8 out of 10 Value: 8 out of 10 Comments: the pod is the single best guitar investment i've ever made. it solved my distortion problems, once and for all. it's aaalmost perfect. some have complained about the treble output, which seems a bit too harsh. but i look forward to the next incarnation and will be there with my wallet. for deep editing, i recommend patchwizard over sounddiver.
Review from dB Masters Ease of Use: 8 out of 10 Quality: 9 out of 10 Value: 6 out of 10 Comments: I still use the original POD and love it. I think it is bit expensive, but I got it cheap cuz I managed a music store at the time. The sounds are great, it's super use to use, and with the floorboard it's even good for live situations. I love my POD.
Review from el musico Ease of Use: 8 out of 10 Quality: 8 out of 10 Value: 9 out of 10 Comments: I reaaly like my POD 2.0, so much in fact i upgraded to a PPOD PRO for studio/live use. This unit has everything you need from compression to reverb and delays. The only problem i have with it is that you can not set the rate of mod effects by BMP. you can tap out the timing but it will fluctuate a bit if the effect is held out for a while. The foot controller is quite expensive too (holds no bearing on my review), but a must when you want to use your POD live. overall, i think that no project studio should be without one.
Review from Noize2u Ease of Use: 8 out of 10 Quality: 10 out of 10 Value: 10 out of 10 Comments: I bought my first POD when the first shipment hit the stores. I have not turned back since, it is the best investment I ever made. I have not pulled my rig out of the closet since. With a little work and the ability to tweak it via the Sound Diver software via midi, the thing can do just about anything I need it to and then some. The sounds are as close as your gonna get to real with any amp sim. Their AIR circuit for simulating a real cabinet is awsome, and really makes the unit what it is. They have truly perfected the art of direct guitar recording with this unit. I doubt I personally will ever use a live rig in the studio again!
Review from blueninjastar Ease of Use: 7 out of 10 Quality: 8 out of 10 Value: 9 out of 10 Comments: The POD 2.0 packs plenty of bang for the buck. The amp/cabinet simulations are very good and combined with a good suite of effects, this unti can provide you with a great sound at a great price. I find the editting software a little vague and there's not enough control from the unit itself, but with a little time, editting patches is pretty intuitive. The quality of the effects leaves a little to be desired, but only when compared to using individual high-end units that would each cost twice the price of the POD. |
