Problem with Adobe Audition 3.0

Hi really hope someone can help me!

I have installed Adobe audtion 3.0 on my new acer laptop with Windows 7 and it says that "The currently installed soundcard driver does not support DirectSound Input. Recording audio is not possible."

Can anyone help me with this?
