More Upgrades to the Community

Just a quick little update on what has been done here in the last few days, and what the plan is moving forward.

OK, your wish is my command, I have started adding many new features to this community, here is a list of the biggies.

• Personal Profile
• Image uploading fixed
• Studio profile added, since this is info we always ask about in conversation
• Forum
• Working on thread subscription for email alerts to replies, unsubscribe should be functional now as well...emphasis on SHOULD BE, if it is not, I am sure you will all let me know
• Optimizing SQL statements to improve the speed of the forum, you don't see any changes on the page other than it loads quicker, this will be an ongoing process as I learn SQL better
• Setting up the forum threads to automatically hyperlink any character strings that start with http: so we can easily link to various other sites to open them in a new window
• Added some UBBcode to the forum so pleople have some additional layout options for their messages, more will be coming
• Design and Layout
• Trying to make all the important stuff available on the front page, the newest news, the newest articles and the newest forum postings.
• Added some Sponsor advertisements back, please purchase through them if you can

Some of the upgrades in the nearest future you may not even see, as this website is sooooo database intensive, as in EVERY PAGE hits the database with at least one query, usually two or more so I am trying to beef-up my SQL skills (SQL stands for "Structured Query Language" for those of you that don't know it is the language one speaks to communicate with a database) to make this site as efficient as possible, thereby making this website faster for all of us.

Judging by the opinion of everyone that answered, I have shelved the idea of private messaging and use that time toward the email alerts, so use 'em and test 'em and make sure they work, I added 'em just for all of you that requested it!

If anyone should see a problem that I have not caught, please let me know, I will fix it as quick as I can, I did a lot of recoding to the forum, and it is a lot faster, but I did keep a copy of the old one just in case there are probs with it.
