I need help with 4 track cassette recording

From marksmith on Apr 27, 2007

I have an old 4 track, Yamaha MT3X model. I need to know how to mix tracks to gain 1 or more 'open' tracks to use for obvious reasons. I know it is a simple procedure but I do not have the operations manual ( found the recorder in a pawn shop ) and just can't figure this out without help. I know how to record all 4 tracks, but that's as far as I can get. Can/would someone give me some tips as to bus/send one or more previously recorded tracks that would be mixed accordingly to free up 1 or more tracks to do over dubbing, etc. Thanks in advance, Mack
