Last Day on the Job

From dB Masters on Mar 20, 2007

It's kinda weird, at age 39 I have never gone through a real "2 week notice" period at an employer that was serious...my first job out of school was a layoff after the employer was bought out, the second I got huffy and quit on the spot, then I worked at dads machine shop for a few years until I got in to I.T. The first job in I.T. I knew darn well was a stepping stone gig that I'd leave quickly, which I did then got a good job for four years until a layoff...then I consulted for a couple years which is constant coming and going until I got this job...this job I have been at for barely over a year, made great friends, learned a bit but got a better opportunity. so the last two weeks I have been training people on my applications and all that knowing I was leaving.

Feels kinda weird...leaving some friends behind like that. Putting all personal feelings aside it's an easy decision, though.

I am looking forward to me new gig and all that, just feels weird.
