Still looking for a training facility

From dB Masters on Feb 19, 2007

Man, I just can't find a good MA training gym. I had to quit my last gym due to some serious disagreements with my trainer over what he was teaching my kids and what my goals were while getting his goals forced on me.

I have been in and out of a good half-dozen places taking a couple weeks of classes here and there trying to judge the gyms/dojos...they all kinda suck. I can't say as though I left any of the classes anywhere having learned anything I could actually use in a fight. It might be fun and challenging, but completely ineffective in a self-defense situation. Like anyone would ever jump in the air, spin around and throw a mid-air kick to the head in the real world...it's challenging to do, but it'd do nothing but get me closer to getting my ass kicked.

I have talked to my old trainer and he said to come in and take some classes, see if we can work something out. I dunno...the classes are decent, but out of an hour class I only get 30 minutes of class due to the first half being P.T. which is fine, but I am paying to learn to fight, not exercise, if I need exercise I'll do it on my own time, gym time should be learning martial arts.
