What a Weekend
From dB Masters on Feb 04, 2007
Damn hackers...I have a content management system that has been in heavy use on the net for a few years. I guess I must have arrived and hit the big time now cuz I was targeted with an attack...they found a SQL Injection exploit and raised hell on many sites, including a few I run, a couple flame runs and a few Hero runs...
What a nightmare...I hate people whose hobby it is to destroy other people work...but that's what makes the world go around I guess...I can say I learned quite a bit, and in a weird way am flattered somebody found my script popular enough to try to exploit. Once I found how they did it it was quite easy to patch...but still, lots of cleanup left in the wake.
It's too bad people that clever won't get a legitimate job helping stop hackers. I have learned a bit of hacking myself for the reason of learning how to stop it, I have been long aware of SQL Injection and done it actually...
Anyway, rant over, I'm tired after a long weekend, I plan to sit down with my family, have a couple of beers and watch the Super Bowl.
