I just bought a V-AMP2 mainly because it is supposed to interface with my PC & allow me to edit patches via a MIDI connection. So far, I have been unable to make it work.
Behringer V-AMP2
Windows XP Home
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
Any ideas appreciated

Feb 25, 2006 06:33 pm Do you have both the MIDI send and MIDI return cables connected? It needs both...
Feb 26, 2006 03:30 am This is how I have my VAMP Setup and its working a treat..(well, not the same hardware ie. my cards M-Audio and I have a seperate MIDI unit , also M-Audio)
Ye need to setup the midi interface and install all the drivers, and install the vedit prog...
Then fire the midi OUT/IN into the VAMP and power er up...
After this, just launch the software and you're ready to control the VAMP, from the PC, without ever leaving yer seat!!!
Good luck
Coco.

Feb 26, 2006 12:57 pm Hey cocofromscotland ... Canada says "Hi!" :)
Yes, I did all you suggest. As I said, I'm using a Soundblaster Audigy & a gameport input as the MIDI interface. So I have a 15 pin connector running to the joystick IN of the PC (conected to the Audigy) & regular MIDI connectors on the V-AMP. The Audigy is supposed to handle the MIDI, as far as I know.
(Behringer says this config is OK)
I get an error message saying that the V-AMP is not recognized, probably because it is set to MIDI THRU (not true ... I checked)
Feb 26, 2006 04:37 pm Do you have some other midi device you can use to check if the MIDI output from your computer is working? Then try the MIDI in. You need to take some variables out of the situation. Check your cables...

OK, I dont know what the Audigy/Gameport config is but my config is:
M-Audio Duo - MIDI IN >> MIDI IN VAMP
MIDI OUT >> MIDI OUT VAMP
One thing, you must have this all setup and plugged on booting (It wont recognise if you plug in/setup AFTER booting up) ... so make sure its all plugged in, as per the above, when you startup...
Try that first...I only get the message you describe if I plug in the mIDI interface AFTER bootup...it SHOULD be plug in play but for some reason, doesnt work sometimes...
Otherwise, check the MIDI cables are all OK and make sure you DONT use MIDI thru... IN/OUT all the way.
Cheers
